Waddle Dee Rescue should have a strong focus on city building mechanics

Nintendo just rolled out a new trailer for Kirby and the Forgotten Land reveals a ton of exciting new details about the game’s official release date. Kirby Fans who like to play with friends can look forward to Kirby and the Forgotten LandThe collaboration of, thanks to the return of fan favorite character Bandana Waddle Dee. The trailer also sheds some light on a few new Copy Abilities for Kirby fans expect, like Drill, to let players dig through the earth and attack enemies from below. On top of that, it looks like Kirby and the Forgotten Land there is a rather elaborate central area called Waddle Dee Town to explore.
While Nintendo hasn’t shared many details on how Waddle Dee Town works, from the look of things it should give Kirby access to a few shops, minigames, and other unique add-ons like Wise Waddle Dee. While some games like Kirby’s Return to Dream Land have prominent expansion centers in the past, Kirby and the Forgotten Land there is a unique opportunity to do city building the way it was before Kirby the game does not. When players rescue Waddle Dees from the Beast Pack, they will have the opportunity to directly control the rebuilding of Waddle Dee Town.
Adding City Buildings to Kirby
Players already know the word Kirby and the Forgotten Land It was first revealed that Waddle Dees was in danger, but only now are fans getting a clearer sense of what Waddle Dees does after being released from captivity. Looks like the Waddle Dees have their own old town not far away The Forgotten Landstrange lost civilization, where they will reset and do their best to aid Kirby in his attempt to battle the Beast Pack. Earning more stores by saving more Waddle Dees sounds like a great development system for The Forgotten Land, but HAL Labs can still go further.
Because there will definitely be dozens of Waddle Dees trapped in Kirby and the Forgotten LandA mysterious wasteland, Kirby has tons of potential NPCs to coordinate the rebuilding of Waddle Dee Town. HAL can take notes from games like Strong default allow The Forgotten Land the player assigns a certain number of Waddle Dees to a quest in Waddle Dee Town; whether it’s building a new store or putting together an upgrade to the store. Set up quests in Waddle Dee Town, complete one of The Forgotten Landlevel, and then going back to find new amenities sounds like a pretty satisfying and efficient system.
HAL can further study city building by giving Kirby and the Forgotten Land the player also controls the aesthetic of Waddle Dee Town. Animal Crossing: New Horizons could inspire a construction system of the same kind in The Forgotten Land, allowing fans to rearrange buildings and redecorate them as usual. A little customization will help a lot with collecting them all Kirby and the Forgotten Landof Waddle Dees, especially if Waddle Dees specifically unlocks certain cosmetics for Waddle Dee Town stores.
Experimenting with Kirby
Added city building mechanics Kirby and the Forgotten Land would certainly be a deviation from the franchise’s standard feature list, but then, The Forgotten Land has been an experimental game with its 3D design. HAL Lab said that Kirby Entering a new phase of life, meaning future Kirby games may have other drastic deviations from franchise convention.
If that’s what HAL wants to do, it starts off strong with big risks and experiments in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, including the implementation of a detailed city building system into the Town of Waddle Dee. Saving the Waddles will certainly bring rewards, but if players can arrange ways for God Waddle to return to Kirby, there will be more long-term rewards for both the player and the team. Kirby series to reap.
