Vision may really be the best character in the MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has no shortage of colorful characters in its arsenal. Tony Stark (Iron Man) is a “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist”, a tech wizard who has spent his life manufacturing and selling weapons to become Iron Man. Natasha Romanov (Black Widow) was practically raised from birth to be a programmed assassin. T’Challa (Black Panther) is the king and protector of the fictional African Kingdom of Wakanda.

Then there’s Vision. A randomly generated humanoid to act as a countermeasure against the cyborg supervillain Ultron. Vision became a valuable ally, lover, martyr and family ‘man’ during his tenure as a member of the Avengers – and in that order. . Because of his appearance and his wide range of roles in the MCU, Vision is possibly the best character in the entire series. Moreover, Vision may not yet appear in the MCU and continue to develop his mythology.

Ultron's vision era is cut

In the events of Vengeance Squad: Age of Ultron, Iron Man wants to prevent further alien invasions of Earth like the one in The Avengers. He envisioned a shield around the Earth to protect it from foreign threats. However, like a genius billionaire, Iron Man lets his ambition and ego take the reins. He accidentally created Ultron, an artificial intelligence program that calculates humans are Earth’s disease, and must be eradicated.

Ultron was too powerful for the Avengers to handle on his own, especially since he acquired the Wakandan Vibranium. In an act of desperation, Iron Man and Bruce Banner (The Hulk) worked diligently to create a countermeasure against Ultron. This despair formed when creating Vision.

Vision is programmed using Iron Man’s AI personality, Jarvis. Unlike Ultron, he decided to fight for humanity, not destroy it. Vision possesses superhuman strength, supreme intelligence, the ability to fly, the ability to go through objects and transform himself into intangibles, etc. This set of powers makes him an invaluable member of the Avengers. , and Vision was the last to destroy Ultron.

Vision Civil War was cut

After many cataclysmic events in the previous MCU movies, the world’s governments have come down with the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War. The Avengers are split in the middle on how they should handle the demands of the world. Iron Man thinks the Avengers should listen to the UN and take a more cautious approach. Captain America argues that regimes and agendas change, and therefore the most resilient are their own.

The line of sight was tilted towards Iron Man during the debate. He fairly easily dismisses Captain America’s joke logic by saying that the mere existence of the Avengers means confrontation. Vision offers the most concise and convincing argument for why Iron Man’s argument is correct. He also serves as the enforcer of Iron Man’s team. Vision essentially becomes a glorified babysitter for Wanda Maximoff, the Avenger wielding extremely powerful magic but not necessarily controlling his abilities.

Vision Infinity War is cut

In Avengers: Infinity War, the main villain of the Marvel universe takes center stage: Thanos. The Mad Titan is on a mission to split the universe’s population in half. His logic is that resources are finite and populations only grow, and thus he is the herald of a universe that will only know happiness and abundance moving forward. To achieve his goal, Thanos must possess all six of the Infinity Stones, and it happens that the Mind Stone has been attached to Vision’s head since the birth of the Avenger.

Vision is severely damaged at the beginning of the film. While he is a great power that is considered Vengeance Squad: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, Thanos’ Black Order quickly worked with human figures. Only support from Captain America, Black Widow, and The Falcon will prevent Vision from getting an early exit in the film.

However, the audience knows that Not all Disney movies have happy endings. In an emotional and powerful scene, Wanda (who became Vision’s lover) destroys Vision so that Thanos can’t use the sixth and final Infinity Stone to carry out his genocidal plan. However, by this point, Thanos had possessed the Time Stone, and rewinded time so he could kill Vision while keeping the Mind Stone intact. Vision is brutally killed twice in the space of two minutes, before half the universe disappears from existence. He was the first of many martyrs of the Avengers on that fateful day.

Vision WandaVision is cut

Transparent events of WandaVision, a grieving Wanda creates a happy ending for herself and Vision. In doing so, she mind-controls a small New Jersey town and becomes the villain of her own story.

Wanda has endured more injuries than perhaps any Avenger. Her parents were murdered with Tony Stark’s weapon. Her brother was murdered by Ultron. In the end, Vision was killed by Thanos. She was then removed from existence for 5 years, thanks to Thanos.

To create the family she’s been yearning for since she was a child, Wanda locates Vision’s body and essentially resurrects him. She also created two children for them to take care of. In doing so, Vision plays both the doting husband and father. Not a bad performance for an artificially created character.

Vision WandaVision 3 is cut

Vision has worn many hats during his six years in the MCU. He’s a surprisingly emotional character for a human, and is constantly trying to figure out where he fits in the Avengers and in Wanda’s life. This range is what has made him such a fan favorite and why he is the best character in the MCU. He proved to be resourceful, the voice of reason, a force to be reckoned with and the perfect companion for Wanda. Here’s hoping that he’ll return to the silver screen in a future Marvel project.
