Video game Grandma Unboxes Shin Megami Tensei 5 in the latest video

Japan-based developer Atlus released Shin Megami Tensei 5, the latest game in the critically-acclaimed role-playing game series on November 11, 2021 in Japan and November 12, 2021 worldwide. Described as a combination of previous series titles Serenade and Apocalypse, Shin Megami Tensei 5 features a new standalone story that incorporates the mechanics of the return series including the ability to negotiate with demons, use them in battle, and combine them together to create even more powerful variations.

The story of Shin Megami Tensei 5 revolves around Nahobino, a being created by fusing a mortal with a god. As Nahobino, it is the responsibility of the player to participate in the war between demons and angels and save present-day Tokyo from a demonic invasion originating in a kingdom called Da’at. As before Shin megami tensei title, the game emphasizes the struggle between the forces of Law and Chaos and has multiple endings depending on the player dialogue selection and game play decision.

While many Atlus and JRPG fans are quite excited about Shin Megami Tensei 5, few people are as enthusiastic as longtime series fan and Youtuber Food4Dogs, also affectionately known as “Grandma Gaming”. An anime fan, video game lover, and proud pet parent, Food4Dogs operates a YouTube channel that features a variety of videos including game unboxing, play through, console and accessory reviews, and videos general chat. Since launching its channel in early 2018, Food4Dogs has been posting new content almost every week.

On November 13th, one day later Shin Megami Tensei 5 released worldwide, Food4Dogs uploaded a video in which she unboxes the Fall of Man Premium Edition of the game. The Fall of Man edition contains a number of extras – in particular, Food4Dogs is excited about a sling bag featuring the recurring series mascot Jack Frost and an artbook that introduces both new and classic demons, frequently praised the distinctive art style and uniqueness of its character series. Perhaps an unboxing video for a recently announced product Shin Megami Tensei 3 Magic figurines maybe in her future?

The video is less than half an hour long, serving as a surprisingly thorough introduction to the film for new fans. In addition to unboxing new games, Food4Dogs also showcases her collection of previous titles in the series, consists of Shin Megami Tensei: Redux’s Strange Journey and Devil Survivor is overclocked, for both Nintendo 3DS.
