Video Funny Viral Dog is drawing comparison with Pokemon Sword and Shield Legendaries
Pokemon Sword and Shield are heavily criticized for their unnatural looking animations, but this video shows how weird they would be in real life.
With every new game in Pokemon series, fans are always eager to see what kind of new animation and details will be included for the new Pokemon in the title, but Sword Pokemon and Shield is the controversial entry on that matter, to say the least. Fans have been frustrated with the carelessness that seems to be put into a lot of character animations, and one fan found a great example of this. legendaries Zacian and Zamazenta would look like if their animations were from the real world.
Originally posted to the subreddit r/aww by Reddit user u/Gastonbeast24 before being reposted as r/Pokemon, user u/SpaceWaterVoid pointed out the similarities between this video of a dog quickly turning around which he didn’t notice. It doesn’t look like it’s moving after the Zacian and Zamazenta animations included in Sword Pokemon and Shield. The video shows just how grotesque the Legendary Pokemon looks when it turns its head, and if seen in real life, the motion would give many people a reason to stop.
The animation shot for Zacian and Zamazenta is not unique criticized in Sword Pokemon and Shield, because fans find many reused animations from before Pokemon titles within them. Usually that won’t be an issue because studios developing sequels to games running on similar engines often reuse animations; however, Game Freak promised that Sword and Shield There will be some of the best animations ever included Pokemon game and cites many new, detailed animations as the reason for the game’s exclusion from the National Pokedex.
When looking at some of the less-than-stellar-looking animations included in the game’s final cut, with Zacian and Zamazenta’s transformation being among the worst, it’s no surprise that fans unsatisfied. Although there was try to boycott Sword Pokemon and Shield as a way to show Pokemon Company and Game Freak that fans won’t accept any more low-quality, cookie-cutter titles in the series, Sword and Shield continues to be one of the Switch’s best-selling titles.
It seems like Game Freak may have heard some criticism from fans, however, with Pokemon Legend: Arceus seems to shake Pokemon recipe. It remains to be seen if Game Freak’s next title can deliver on the promise of a Pokemon the game has unique, detailed animations, but so far, it seems Pokemon Legend: Arceus could draw fans back with its changes to the series.
