Ontario Verification provides businesses and organizations with a quick, easy and secure way to scan and confirm that a visitor’s enhanced vaccine certificate with an official QR code meets the requirements of the Ontario for entry.
The application scans the QR code on the vaccine certificate issued by the Ontario government.
After scanning the QR code, the business or organization will see: green checkmark screen means verified, yellow warning screen means there is a problem, gray timeout screen means is unable to read the QR code or the “red X”, which means the vaccine certificate is invalid.
PROTECTION OF SAFETY AND PRIVACY
The verification result is displayed on the screen for 30 seconds, after which it is deleted.
The app does not ask for a user’s specific location or collect any information that links specific locations, visitors, or businesses together.
To help evaluate and improve the application, only metrics such as total number of scans and total number of valid, invalid or alert results are collected.
INTERNET IS NOT REQUIRED FOR SCANING
The scanning feature of the application works without an internet connection. Verify Ontario will periodically need an internet connection to update vaccine or entry requirements. You can also manually update on the settings and info page.
LICENSE AND DEVICE COMPATIBILITY
The app requires camera access and requires camera access on first use.
Ontario verification requires a device running iOS 11 or later.
