Venom: Let There Be Carnage delayed

Sony has pushed the theatrical launch date for its Venom film sequel. Beforehand slated for a Sept. 24 launch, Venom: Let There Be Carnage will now hit theaters on Oct. 15, Sony Photos introduced Thursday.
This marks the third time the movie’s release has been pushed; initially, the sequel was slated for October 2020, earlier than being bumped to June 2021 due to COVID-19 considerations, then to September. Sony is dedicated to maintaining a theatrical launch for the movie.
The film is a follow-up to 2018’s Venom, and can revisit Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and the symbiote as they face off in opposition to a brand new symbiote: Carnage, whose host is serial killer Cletus Kennedy (Woody Harrelson). There isn’t a phrase on what this implies for different Sony-Marvel movies, like Morbius, which is set for a Jan. 21, 2022 launch date.
Whereas Sony is holding its newest superhero film, Marvel hasn’t made any related bulletins about its upcoming Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, which is ready to be launched on Sept. 3. The success of each Shang-Chi and Venom — supposing it truly comes out on its new launch date — will doubtless have an effect on Marvel and Sony’s resolution round Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is at present set to be launched on Dec. 17, however nonetheless hasn’t gotten its first trailer.
