Vanessa Bryant – Judge denies request to dismiss her lawsuit against LA county over Kobe Bryant’s leaked crash photos

Good news for Vanessa Bryant! As we near the second anniversary of Kobe Bryant’s tragedy, Vanessa has just received word that her lawsuit against Los Angeles County will actually proceed. On Wednesday (December 5), a California judge denied Los Angeles County’s request to dismiss Vanessa Bryant’s lawsuit against them. In the lawsuit, Bryant claimed that photographs of her husband, Kobe Bryant, 41 years old and 13 year old daughter Gianna “Gigi” Bryant’s The location of the helicopter crash on January 26, 2020, has been leaked.

Reportedly, attorneys for the County of Los Angeles filed a motion for summary judgment in an attempt to dismiss the case altogether. U.S. District Judge John F. Walter dismissed that petition on grounds of necessity and good cause for trial.

“There are issues of factual accuracy that are important to trial.”

He added that his role as a judge is not

“To weigh the evidence and determine the truth of the matter but to determine if there is an exact matter to adjudicate.”

Vanessa Bryant, 39, File a lawsuit against the county in 2020, shortly after her husband, daughter and others were killed in a helicopter crash outside Los Angeles in January of that year. Other victims of that tragic day include: Payton Chester, 13, Sarah Chester, forty six, Alyssa Altobelli, 14, Keri Altobelli, forty six, John Altobelli, 56, Christina Mauser, 38 years old and pilot Aout Zobayan, 50. Vanessa Bryant, seeking damages for mental and emotional distress.

Reportedly, before the Judge’s ruling this week, attorneys for the County of Los Angeles said,

“We respectfully disagree.”
