Vampire Survivors is a sleeping hit on Steam, Linux version planned

Those who have checked social media over the past few weeks or so may have heard people discuss a game called Vampire Survivors. When it first launched on Steam last December, Vampire Survivors not receive much attention from the gaming public. However, the popularity of the game started to spike this month. It amassed around 1,000 concurrent players on January 6 and just today it hit a 24-hour high of over 35,000 concurrent players. At least in part thanks to the game’s low price of $2.99 USD on Steam, Vampire Survivors became the next surprise hit on the platform, to the point that the developers plan to port the game to both Mac and Linux in the near future.
For those wondering the game of Vampire Survivors demanding, it works like a top-down shooter. You must survive as long as you can fend off hordes of procedurally generated Gothic themed monsters. The player must “get as much gold as possible to the next survivor, before Death inevitably ends [their] Fight. ”
A cheeky stab
From now on, final patch for the game that launched last week and it implements bug fixes, an additional evolution, two achievements, and an “NFT” item. The developers have clarified that “NFT,” also known as Nduja Fritta Tanto, is a simple joke rather than a real deal, and that collecting an item adds 10 seconds on the clock. To remove any doubt, the developers have clarified that they do not support NFT methods.
The spike in popularity of Vampire Survivors on Steam can be quite a shock for a developer, but it bodes well for its future. Don’t be surprised if it ends up rolling out more patches and updates to the game than originally intended.
