UPDATE: Torchlight: Infinite opens closed Beta registrations with a new movie trailer

Torchlight: Infinite, the upcoming mobile release in the popular ARPG series is receiving closed beta registrations and has a new trailer showing us what we can expect from the next chapter of the series.

The trailer is titled “Hope” and it gives us a look at the world, what’s going on, along with the main characters and conflicts. The development this time is being handled by XD Games and will follow Torchlight II, expand continuously from there and walk through Flashlight III.

You can now pre-register the game on both Android and iOS and sign up for the closed beta. Well, there is no word on when we might see a release, moving towards testing is a good indication of how far they are going.

Torchlight: Infinite takes place 200 years later Torchlight II, with humans using Ember as their primary source of power to operate their machines and magic. However, Ember is slowly spoiling and causing some trouble, to put it mildly, that’s what you have to come for of course. The cinematic trailer introduces us to the various characters that are Torchlight. Some of these characters are featured on the game’s official website, and many more will appear.

The information available so far is rather sparse but we do have some details on the skill system, allowing players to choose how they play throughout the world. There are four skill types: active, assist, passive and activated. Each active and supportive skill will have certain characteristics that complement each other and can be combined to form a new skill. An example includes using a support skill, Greater Multiple Projectiles with an active skill, Split Fireball. This allows your character to fire five fireballs at once. Essentially, they’ll be flexible in trying to make the mobile experience an interesting successor.
