Ubisoft announces XDefiant, a new free-to-play Tom Clancy game

Ubisoft held a stream today to announce the latest game in Tom Clancy IP, a free-to-play team game. gunner titled XDefiant. The game features 6v6 combat in both arena and linear modes as well as rotating maps.

Tom Clancy’s XDefiant not only carries the Clancy IP on the label, but also draws inspiration for the game’s classes from several Tom Clancy games. This includes Outcasts and Cleaners from The Division, Ghost Recon’s Wolves, and Splinter Cell’s Echeleon. These are XDefiant’s attack, support, tank, and healer character classes, respectively. It seems like Ubsoft has aimed for a kind of “punk rock” feel with the game, so players will find themselves in graffiti-filled maps.
