U.S. returns tens of thousands of looted ancient artifacts to Iraq

In Iraq, the chaos that adopted the 2003 U.S.-led invasion and toppling of former chief Saddam Hussein offered a prefect storm for plundering artifacts. In a single infamous incident, days after U.S. troops took over, Iraqis looted Baghdad’s Nationwide Museum of an estimated 15,000 gadgets, just over a fourth of which have been returned as of March.
