Twitter Is Conducting Research On Replies By Allowing Some iOS Users To React With An Up Or Down Vote

Roommates, developers seem to be paying attention to what Twitter is asking for and it shows up in recent update and projects! Almost a week ago, Twitter rolled out captions to voice tweets, saying it had gathered feedback from users and made changes “to improve accessibility features”. Now, the social media app has announced that it is experimenting with up and down votes as a way to react to replies under tweets.

“We are testing this to understand the types of replies you find relevant in a conversation, so we can find ways to show more of those replies.” said a tweet from Twitter Support.

However, before users get too excited about using the feature, Twitter explained that this is “just an experiment for research right now”. This also means that the new feature is only available to certain users, namely those using iOS.

Also, react can only be used when replying to a tweet than the original tweet. The order of replies under a tweet will not be affected by votes. For those expecting to see their vote, think again! This feature is only visible to accounts that use it, but upvotes will be visible to other accounts as likes. And Twitter is making sure people don’t mistake the feature for a shade that says it’s a “dislike button.”

Although Twitter is moving in the direction of adding features, the platform has also recently given the startup rights to others. Last week, they revealed that the fleet will no longer be available after August 3 as they are “ready to explore other ways people can share on Twitter”. As you may already know, fleet is a feature that allows users to share multimedia content that disappears after 24 hours.

“We planned Fleets to help people feel comfortable joining the conversation in a way that takes the pressure off, but it turns out Fleets are mostly used by those Tweets the most,” Twitter said. Support said.
