Tula Mineral Magic sunscreen review

If I could ever give my younger self any advice it would be to wear sunscreen and wear it vigorously, especially on your face. Although I largely avoided tanning beds and traumatic sunburns growing up, I neglected sunscreen in my daily beauty routine for a long time, and my fair skin suffered even more as a result.

For a long time I avoided putting sunscreen on my face unless absolutely necessary, fearing the protectant would clog my pores, cause my skin to break out, leave my skin feeling super greasy, and not take well with me would mix with my makeup. And to be honest, the sunscreen products that existed just a decade ago were nowhere near as effective, lightweight, non-greasy and skin-friendly as today’s products. Thankfully, I now understand the benefits and needs of broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen into my daily skincare routine, and my face has never been more grateful for that extra layer of protection from the harmful effects of the sun.

I recently discovered Tula’s Mineral Magic Sunscreen and fell in love with it – simply put: a must-have product that I wear on my face every day. Unlike cakey, heavily scented brand name sunscreens, Tula’s Mineral Magic is super light, non-greasy and glides on as seamlessly and silky as a foundation base. In fact, it absorbs so quickly and easily that it feels like I haven’t applied any sunscreen at all, what I like best about this product is that it disappears into your skin as it works its protective magic.

Tula Mineral Magic Sunscreen Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 30

After washing and moisturizing my face in the morning, I shake up the Mineral Magic Potion and apply a few dabs to my face and neck. The sunscreen with SPF 30 has a peachy hue but the sunscreen is not tinted at all and suits all skin tones and types well. While I usually struggle with dry, sensitive skin myself, the sunscreen confirms that it works well on combination and oily skin too.

Not only has my skin not broken out with Mineral Magic, but it has improved in its overall appearance and texture. My skin feels more hydrated and has a healthy glow that doesn’t come from sitting in the sun for too long. Mineral sunscreen ingredients also work to give your skin some extra, much-needed love, with wild butterfly ginger root added to fight blue light and pollution, red algae to control oil, and a blend of prebiotics and probiotics to improve skin’s overall condition and smoothness.

While there are plenty of branded sunscreens out there, I promise none applies as effortlessly, evenly, and cleanly as Tula’s Mineral Magic. And while summer is certainly the time when people start buying and applying lots of SPF, this is one sunscreen you should wear year-round, especially since the sun never stops wreaking havoc on your skin.

If you’re looking for additional sunscreen options from Tula, the brand also carries a daily sunscreen gel called Protect + Glow, which is very similar to Mineral Magic, but gives your skin a glowing, ethereal look — it’s great for dry skin and mature skin. Either way, you can’t go wrong with a product that offers that extra sense of comfort, security, and peace of mind, especially when it’s time to see the dermatologist.
