Tucker Carlson burst out laughing in an interview with a freedom-loving NBA player

Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter, a native of Turkey, was officially sworn in as a US citizen on Monday after legally changing his last name to “Freedom”.

After all the hardships he went through, he was ecstatic to finally become a citizen of a free country.

Just hours after being sworn in, Freedom appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to talk about her experience. The NBA veteran was proud to wear a shirt with the words “Citizen of the United States” written on the US flag.

Freedom said: “I can easily say that this is the most important day of my life. “You know, it was my dream the first day I set foot in America.”

Freedom said he received his green card about six years ago. Since then, his country has not made things easy for him.

“You know, after I got my green card, it was obviously a tough six years because [the] The Turkish government revoked my passport and put my name on [the] INTERPOL list,” he said.

Freedom said being naturalized in the US was “the best feeling I’ve ever had”.

In addition to becoming a citizen, he decided change his last name to Freedom to celebrate his new country.

Freedom is also an outspoken critic of Communist Party of China. He took special issue with their treatment of Uyghurs, as well as citizens of Taiwan and Hong Kong.

“You know, there’s a lot of athletes, a lot of actors, a lot of celebrities out there who are scared because if they criticize China, obviously they’re going to be affected,” he told Carlson.

“You know, their endorsements, contracts or… money will be affected. And they are afraid to say anything. But for me, you know, human rights, democracy and freedom are more important than anything they can give me.”

Throughout the interview, Carlson was grinning from ear to ear with apparent happiness for Freedom. In a time when negative stories seem to dominate the nightly news, a star athlete proudly becoming an American is clearly a welcome change.
