TSMC is said to be working on Apple M3 chip with 3nm technology

Apple is said to have been working on the Apple M3 chip, according to a report by Digitizing.

Taiwan’s Digitimes magazine reports that TSMC has started trial production of the Apple M3 chip using 3nm technology at Fab 18 in southern Taiwan and is considering moving the process to volume production in Q4. year 2022.

This chip may come too late to be present on Apple’s iPhone 14, but is likely to appear on Mac laptops in 2023.

3nm technology means improved performance and better power efficiency translates into even thinner and lighter laptops.

Qualcomm just announced its own Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm chip made by Samsung on 4nm technology, and Intel is said to be targeting 3nm technology for 2023 as well.

Since the M3 chip may only launch in 2023, Apple is expected to offer the M2 and A16 Bionic silicon for 2022 built on 4nm technology, unless Apple and TSMC manage to pull one more thing out first. this, of course.
