What is the Triangle Strategy?

Triangle Strategy is a brand new tactical RPG published by Square Enix. The game focuses on story, geopolitics, and player choices, with very few playable battles in the game. Prologue demo available on eShop.

Triangle Strategy there are three different countries sharing a fragile peace on the continent of Norzelia. The choices the player makes as they take control of Serenoa Wolffort, leader of one of the three nations, will determine their destination and alliance in an inevitable new war.

As for its battles, Triangle Strategy use the same tactical RPG systems as the ones in Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Super Robot Taisen Gaiden Masoukishin: Lord of the Elements. There are game elements common to these three games also in Triangle Strategy: the fact that altitude and terrain direction play a big role in the game. Characters are much more vulnerable to being targeted from higher positions, to their flanks and rear.

Who is the developer of the Triangle Strategy?

While you usually read “Triangle Strategy is the new game of the developers Octopath’s Traveler“, Both games are actually made by different teams. Their only thing in common is the HD-2D graphics and Square Enix producer Tomoya Asano.

Octopath’s Traveler developed by Acquire who worked on Tenchu, The Way of the Samurai, What have I done to deserve this, Lord? Akiba’s Trip, and Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story. Acquire worked on a Octopath’s Traveler console and mobile game sequel Continental Champion will also be released in English later in 2022.

While, Triangle Strategy Developed by Artdink, who worked on the SNES to PS1 port of Tactics Ogre: Let us cling to each otherand city and railway company simulation series A-Trainwith the latest entry, A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism, available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
