Travis McMichael appeared in court for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery as the case began to defend

Jason Sheffield, who represents Travis McMichael, on Wednesday asked the judge to stop prosecutors from asking the defendant if he spoke out unequivocally about Arbery’s body, apparently referencing Bryan’s statement told investigators that McMichael called Arbery an n-word and used a curse word. He also alluded to texts and social media posts that prosecutors presented last year as evidence of racism and argued that because the defense did not make “character” of Travis McMichael becomes the issue, so that information is irrelevant.
