End of season 2 of Boys, sees Hughie (Jack Quaid) admit that he’s tired of trying to get rid of the extremely evil Vought Corporation’s bad guy. “I still want to fight Vought,” he said. “I just wanted to do it the right way, not masked by too much courage.” But if the trailer for Boys season 3 is any sign, there will be more boomers about Hughie and his friends.
The trailer, which Prime Video showed during their panel at SXSW 2022, teases more gory escapes as The Boys continue to attempt to take down Vought and The Seven. Perhaps the most interesting thing is that Billy (Karl Urban) picked up some laser eyes of his own?
Besides, Boys is once again taking aim at some of our pop-culture favorites, cynically parodying the likes of Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercials (this time A-Train giving the cop a can of “Turbo Rush.” ) and super boy bands – and maybe a musical between Kumiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Frenchie (Tomer Kapon)? There is also a glimpse of what appears to be an American flag dildo; Do of what you will do. Basically, they all fit very well with the brand of Boysculminated most recently in the animated spin-off, Guys: Metabolism.
The trailer doesn’t offer as much detail as a glimpse of where everyone is after Stormfront. However, as seen in the trailer, the new season will bring together stars Quaid, Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Laz Alonso and Chace Crawford. Also joining the group is Jensen Acrum, finally freed from the confines of Supernatural become a character similar to the hard-hitting Captain America (perhaps).
Part 3 of Boys will premiere on Prime Video with three episodes on June 3. New episodes of the eight-episode season will be available every Friday.
