What did Jake Paul say on Twitter?
Paul and fellow fighter Amanda Serrano confirmed they would fight later in the year, but Paul took to Twitter to doubt Fury would show up.
Blaming Fury for pulling out of their fight again, he wrote on Twitter: “Tommy Fury you pulled out last year. Then you agree to fight me now, but your dad is trying to pull you back out?
“We gave you everything you asked for – two million dollars [tick]VADA tests [tick]tampons [tick].
“You have 24 hours to sort this out or I will never give you that opportunity again.”
the previous island of love star replied to Paul online with a short and simple, “See you August 6th mate.”
Paul then replied, “Actually, we’re in New York next week for the launch press conference and I’m not your mate, mate.”
The YouTuber added a video to his tirade against Fury on Twitter, in which he said he was told Fury would not be traveling to the US for a fight without his father in his corner.
He said, “What’s the excuse? “Oh I can’t come and I can’t do it because my dad can’t be with me during the fight.” Tommy, your father was banned from the United States for 15 years.
“You’ve known that all along. He’s a criminal. He’s not allowed in. When you fought Anthony Taylor in Cleveland, neither did Tyson [Fury] or your father was there for your US debut. Now you suddenly need your team with you?
“That doesn’t make any damn sense.”
Fury Quote tweeted the video of Paul and wrote: “The fight is on. 6.8. Forget a team or other bulls**t. I don’t need nobody to help me lay you flat on this canvas. Oh and thanks for finally signing the drug test… you only agreed to it once you realized the fight was in jeopardy – who needs who [laughing emoji].”
Why is John Fury banned from the US?
Fury Sr. was denied a visa to enter the United States as he had previously been sentenced to 11 years in prison for gouging out the eye of a man during a fight that broke out at a car auction in 2010.
He was found guilty of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in 2011 and was eventually released in 2015 after serving four years of his 11-year sentence for the assault that left a man half blind.
When Fury Sr. was denied entry to America for Tyson Fury’s fight against Deontay Wilder in 2018, he said so Daily Mail back then: “There’s a little problem because I’m not allowed to go to the [US]I’ve been a naughty boy and there’s no point in hiding it.
“I’m not allowed to enter the country. My life is pretty perfect right now – the only thing I’m upset about is that I can’t go to America and be there [Tyson Fury].”
