Tokyo Reverger just got an official TV anime guidebook in Japan, here’s what it’s all about.

The Tokyo Reverger The manual includes character design drafts, storyboards, character profiles, and other proprietary materials used in the production of the anime.

The guidebook most notably includes a roundtable interview with director Koichi Hatsumi, producer Kousuke Yokota, and seiyuu by Takashi Mitsuya and Chifuyu Matsuno: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Sho Karino.

Their discussion spanned the 24 episodes of the TV series, looking back at the various obstacles they faced and sharing some production stories. Furthermore, this is an improved version of the previously released guidebook, focusing only on the first 13 volumes. This book has additional illustrations and documentation for volumes 14 through 24, with 53 additional pages.

Tokyo Reverger Anime Guide Book Price and how to buy

Kodansha has launched Tokyo Reverger TV Anime Official Guidebook Definitive Edition in Japan on January 17. The book sells for 880 yen (tax included). There is an e-book version that you can grab.

This makes importing much easier because you don’t have to worry about shipping. There is a Kindle version on Amazonand an Ebook version on Reservations for pedestrians. I recommend using the Book Walker version as there is a chance that the Amazon Kindle will be region locked in your country unless you have an Amazon Japan account.

Pretty much every anime series has at least one official guidebook like this in Japan. Sadly, these types of books are rarely localized. It was a situation very similar to manga anthology. One thing you can hope for is fans translating it, if even partially. I wouldn’t be surprised if at least part of the interview was translated on social media.
