To Celebrate its New Williamsburg Store (Open Today!) Ganni Hosted a Dinner-Dance Party

Copenhagen and Brooklyn are undoubtedly two of the most amazing cities in the world. Not surprisingly, GanniThe visit to Williamsburg is for a serious style celebration. Last night, a wonderful mix of model, meditator and artist tasted the Danes Brand new store, opening today.
The event takes place at Nightmoves, an elusive haunted place on Grand Street. Decorated with vintage furnishings and personal details, the space is more suggestive of a bohemian’s home than a professionally designed venue. The giant speakers ― so big it looks like an art installation ― hang from the ceiling. James Murphy, founder of LCD Soundsystem, is one of the owners, focusing on sound is consistent.
Dinner was intimate and lively. Two small tables are placed such as Paloma Elsesser, Princess Nokia, Ella Emhoff, Parker Kit Hill and Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. Four Knights next door provided a delicious summer treat.
Although July is not over yet, September is already on everyone’s mind. In a single week, New York will host the VMAs, the US Open, The Met Gala, and of course, dozens of fashion shows and parties. As plans are exchanged, the anticipated excitement and burnout can be felt ―.
The evening’s two guests of honor were local designer Kim Nguyen of Nguyen Inc. and artist Didi Rojas, Colombian, born in Brooklyn. For the Williamsburg store, Rojas created his first mural as well as a ceramic footwear sculpture. Nguyen has partnered with the brand to produce a limited series of t-shirts that reimagine the iconic “I heart NY” design.
Nguyen said of the partnership: “I got it for free. “As long as the image is legal, I can do it.”
After dinner, the tables were cleared to make room for a dance party. As the music got faster and the lights dimmed, Richie Shazam, Kemio Kurosawa, Bretman Rock and all the other great Ganni fans stood on the floor.
