Tina’s fairyland needs a central area as memorable as a sanctuary

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is doing its fair share of distinguishing itself from Borderlands Game. The Multi-layer system and full character customization give players a whole new level of freedom, while new melee weapons and maker names reveal a fully encompassing fantasy setting. However, despite these changes, Borderlands DNA is easy to detect.

From the shading and gun-focused art style to the inclusion of characters like tiny Brick and Tina, Borderlands fans will have no problem jumping over the wheel. While features like Overworld will take some getting used to, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands still deeply bound to Borderlands at the end of the day. As such, the game seems to offer a perfect blend of new and old concepts, and one more feature that will return is Borderlands‘central areas.

Why Tina’s Wonderlands should have a central area

The gearbox can be seen testing with central regions through New Haven in original Borderlands, as the location was once a small settlement with vendors and the lovely mechanic Scooter. It also features a Gold Chest in the Game of the Year edition, making it even more accessible for players to do while visiting the area. However, border zone 2 take things to the next level.

Sanctuary, the base of the Crimson Raiders, has become one of the most iconic aspects of border zone 2 due to its excellent design. Players can visit Crazy Earl’s Eridium supplier or Marcus’s shooting range. They can chat with Dr. Zed at his clinic or Scooter at his garage, and a vault gives the player a way to store their items. Moxxi’s bar is also a great addition, as players can tip this morally-loving character for exclusive guns or play slot machines for special loot. With Michael Mamaril also randomly appearing to hand out free loot, the slot is awesome, and it really became iconic when it started flying part of the game.

While Borderlands: Prequel Still divisive, the game has kept its central approach through the city of Concordia. Moxxi has a bar here, Earl has an Eridium and Springs shop that allows the player to use her Grinder to craft new equipment. With Nurse Nina having a dispensary and a prison compound, Concordia has personality, even if it’s not quite as memorable as Sanctuary.

Borderlands 3 introduced a new version of Sanctuary, this time in the form of a spaceship. It has everything border zone 2Sanctuary did it, with just a few welcome additions like a customizable crew zone. Rooms like Ellie’s garage and Hammerlock’s office were also developed to show the player’s progress in the Crew Challenge, which is a nice touch. The best is Borderlands Science, a full mini-game that can be accessed through Tannis’ clinic. Besides Moxxi games, players can play this to stay busy while waiting for their friends. Although the ship has been criticized quite a bit for being difficult to navigate, the concept is cool, and futuristic Borderlands‘central areas can look to it for inspiration.

Also border zone 2‘s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC There’s a mall, with the Flamerock Refuge featuring a pub run by Moxxi and a place to change clothes. It also becomes the home of Butt Stallion that distributes guns after the story is complete, giving players something else to spend their hard-earned Eridium on. With Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands As the spiritual successor to this expansion, it would be nice to see a place like the Flamerock Refuge feature.

A lot of focus has been placed on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands‘A map of the underworld, and for good reason. Being able to navigate between zones through a cute top-down view is a beauty and random encounters should capture the Dungeons and Dragons feel. However, players can also exit this Overworld map and enter the central area whenever they want to pause their adventure. With Borderlands very well done in the central areas, it would be a pity if Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands lack of a relaxing place to prepare and hang out with friends.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands launches March 25, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
