The first two episodes of Hawk Eye Now available on Disney Plus. While the first episode “Never Meet Your Heroes” was primarily intended to introduce us to Kate Bishop, the second episode, “Hide and Seek,” focuses more on the man we’re all here with. to watch: Clint Barton.
At the core of the episode is Clint’s quest to retrieve his Ronin costume, which, in an unlikely event, ended up in the hands of a Central Park LARPer. This leads to an eye-catching weird action scene in which he fakes fighting his way through a medieval battlefield and pits a ninja in front of a Viking mob. This is the highlight of the episode, as Clint is clearly trying to hide that he actually enjoys a bit of infighting.
Also, we get to see his early interactions with Kate. While not exactly removing her abilities, understandably, he wants to prevent her from getting caught up in this mess more than she already has. But, judging by the hilarious ending moments when she crashes through a skylight and lands in a pile in front of the Tracksuit Mafia, she’s in it all the way to the neck now.
We also have some key facts about Jack Duquesne, Kate’s new stepfather. Fans of Marvel comics will know him as a frequent nemesis of Hawkeye The Swordsman. His talent with a blade was shown in a match against Kate, though I doubt we’ll see him really let loose in the next few episodes. The character is both a hero and a villain in his comics, so there could be more to him than just a mere villain.
A somewhat disappointing factor is the athe power of Yelena by Florence Pugh. I had assumed she was related to the Mafia Tracksuit, although another female character seems to be leading them. The IMDB listing shows Yelena’s features in four volumes of Hawk Eye, so she should be here next week.
Hawk Eye will air every Wednesday on Disney Plus.
