This fan theory tries to explain the great contradiction between Daredevil and Hawkeye

Arguably the biggest event of the MCU came at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. After the Avengers were unable to defeat Thanos in the final battle, the Mad Titan used the Infinity Gauntlet (which is fully integrated with the Infinity Stones) to destroy half of the universe’s population in an event known as ‘The Blip’ in the MCU.
A poignant Reddit user (u/GingeAndProud) found a link between Thanos’ diabolical plan and the respective events in Disney Plus’ Hawk Eye and Netflix Season 3 Daredevil. Read the full post for yourself below:
As explained above, the finale of Daredevil saw a Matt Murdock triumphantly triumph over the notorious crime boss, Wilson Fisk. After Fisk’s incarceration, Vanessa (his lover) proves herself ruthless enough to work together to build an empire worthy of the Kingpin in his absence. However, this ending contradicts Hawk Eye eventually, it is revealed that Wilson Fisk is the ever-present crime mastermind.
In order for these two separate timelines to coexist, any enemies of the Kingpin, including Daredevil and his allies, must be “captured” by Thanos in a “blot”. After that, any law enforcement or heroes who could testify against Fisk are dropped from the equation.
When Fisk comes back for Hawk Eye, he was given five years between Avengers: Infinity War (when half of the population disappears) and the end Avengers: Endgame (when they were brought back), to rebuild his criminal empire from scratch.
Somewhere, Fisk recruited Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) through Eleanor Bishop to act as her own Black Widow assassin; Fisk used Belova’s grief over the loss of her half-sister (Natasha Romanova) to fan the flames of hatred for Clint Barton and his associates.
Since the theory sounded pretty concrete, commenters were quick to agree. One Reddit user (u/Classic_Fan) said,

Logically, this theory tests; There is certainly plenty of evidence to back up the claim.
