This classic Resident Evil villain failed to welcome you to Raccoon City

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, the first live-action film based on Resident Evil video game in 5 years, will be released in theaters soon. Roberts, who is also noted as a director horror movies about sharks 47 meters down and its sequel, spoke with ComicBook Nation Podcast to reveal that Mr. X is almost a prominent villain in Welcome to Raccoon City. He admitted that he couldn’t figure out how to put the tyrant in the movie, saying he had a shot where he could nod to Mr. X. Whether that nod would be an easter egg or something larger was not made clear, but the director ultimately chose not to use the footage, noting that it was his responsibility to use shots that fit the film’s story rather than scenes he wanted.

In addition to director Roberts, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City starring Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Robert Amell as Chris Redfield, Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy and Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker. Other cast members include Lily Gao, Donal Logue and Neal McDonough. More monsters will also appear in the film, including the iconic zombie dogs, the zombified form of William Birkin, and the fearsome Licker.

Mr. X may not appear in Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City, but the movie looks like it will be an exciting action-horror adventure. Obviously Resident Evil fan there will be a lot to look forward to, and perhaps Mr. X is likely to appear in the sequel.
