The World Health Organization admits it omitted the ‘Xi variant’ so it won’t offend China

Although Covid originated in China, countries around the world are doing everything in their power to avoid offending the communist nation.
The latest example of this comes from the World Health Organization.
On Saturday, they publicly acknowledged that they did not name the newly-spreading Omicron variant of COVID-19 the “Xi” variant because it might be “offensive.”

This is more than word Daily caller:
“According to the Greek alphabet being used by WHO to classify COVID-19 variants, the next two variants named by the organization should be “Nu” and “Xi”. However, due to the body’s best practice for naming new diseases, developed in 2015, it omitted both names and switched to the Omicron variant.
Nu has been omitted to avoid confusion with those calling it the “new” variant, the organization said in a press release. The organization said Mr. Xi was omitted because it was a “popular surname”. Avoid using common surnames as disease names so as not to be “offensive to any cultural, social, national, regional, occupational or ethnic group”. “
Like Joe Biden, the World Health Organization loves to bow to China.
