Doreen Bogdan-Martin, director of the agency’s telecommunications development office, said the latest connectivity numbers show progress during the pandemic. However, she added, via The UN’s 46 Least Developed Countries, which includes Afghanistan, Yemen, Niger and Mozambique, “nearly three-quarters of people have never been connected,” facing obstacles such as poverty, illiteracy or limited access to electricity.
