The theory of no way home could put a sequel’s villain on hold

Warning: This article contains vandals for Spider-Man: There’s No Way Home.
Spider-Man: There’s no way home contains more villains than ever, with Tom Holland’s webhead taking on five of the series’ most notorious enemies from the past. It would be difficult to rank people like Doc Ock and Green Goblin in the top Spiderman 4, then, but one way to try is to trace a dangling plot sequence that has been established again Spider-Man: Homecoming and introduced an iconic comic book villain.
This fascinating fan theory predicts that the main antagonist of Spiderman 4, the opening of Holland’s second trilogy already at work, will be Mac Gargan aka Scorpion. Michael Mando previously played Gargan as an associate of Vulture in Come home, with that film’s post-credits scene showing him seeking revenge against Peter Parker. According to this theory, he will eventually take revenge in Spidey 4. With a little help from a familiar alien symbiote…

This theory brings together a series of elements from There is no way home to make a convincing argument that Scorpio might be on his way. The Tinkerer (Michael Chernus) making Gargan’s nib from Octavius’s discarded tentacle is a genius idea. Likewise, there is a lot of speculation about what will happen to the Venom model left behind in NWHIts credits, and letting the Mac take advantage of it, like in the comics, would be a smart move.
Many fans are also anticipating Hobgoblin will appear next, but mainly the incarnation of Ned Leeds. However, the introduction of Roderick Kingsley would be more of a surprise and could lead to interesting, less predictable developments. This is a fascinating theory, then, but only time will tell if it’s close to the truth. We definitely need some ending on the Scorpion front after Spider-Man: There’s no way home.
