Recent Motion Twin and Evil Empire tease a new boss came to kill the headless protagonist of Dead cells. Now, the duo has rolled out a new trailer showing some gameplay from Dead cells The Queen and the Sea, and revealed a lot of details about the DLC, including the release date. Mark your calendar for January 6, 2022.
Dead cells The Queen and the Sea DLC will be available for buy for only $4.99 USD. If you own the base game but no DLC, you can get the DLC pack for $11.99 USD. As this DLC wraps up a massive story arc, Motion Twin and Evil Empire believe it’s a great time for newcomers to also try their hand at the punitive game of punishment. Together they came up with a “Road to the Sea” pack that includes the base game and the DLC trilogy. It is available for a reasonable $32.99 USD.
Bloody details
The Queen and the Sea will bring players to two new biomes, The Infested Shipwreck and The Lighthouse. These locations exist side-by-side with the levels of the Peak Castle and the Throne Room. In Shipwreck, you’ll explore the belly of a rotting ship, while battling the horrors that inhabit the area.
As for the Lighthouse, it’s an upright biome that requires you to leisurely climb to the top of the tower. Just kidding. You need to overcome the rising flames while fighting skilled warriors. Awaiting you at the top, if you can get that far, is the new DLC boss, The Queen.
To take on the new challenges in The Queen and the Sea, you’ll need a new weapon of tremendous destructive power. But what you will get is a pet named Leghugger. However, it can grow, which is great. You can summon your pet to attack your enemies. This will nurture it and eventually lead it to a stronger mature state.
Okay, there are also some cool new weapons. Has a Hand Hook that throws enemies into the wall. If you complete a secret side quest in the bowels of a shipwreck, you can unlock The Abyssal Trident. It sounds dangerous. You can also use The Queen’s Rapier, a hands-on experience. You can see The Queen demonstrate this in the trailer above. It looks great. You may also notice the main character using a shark as a weapon. After The Queen and the Sea’s January 6 release date, you’ll be able to do it in Dead cells. Now that’s the content.
