The problem is clear when blaming coronavirus deaths on Joe Biden

If we look at the number of deaths per month, we see that second point clearly. At the start of the pandemic, in the spring of 2020, most of the deaths occurred in counties that voted for Joe Biden in that year’s presidential run. More recently, however, more deaths have occurred in Trump-voted counties, for four consecutive months.
