The pandemic and time away from performing led Ailey dancer Jessica Pinkett to quit and embark on new creative ventures

She found filmmaking in faculty. She grew up in Baltimore, graduated from the George W. Carver Heart for Arts and Know-how in Towson, Md., and earned a dance diploma at Towson College. There, she took a course in capturing dance on digital camera. Her dance profession obtained in the way in which of exploring this additional: She spent two years in Ailey’s junior firm, Ailey II, then labored in industrial dance, performing in movies, advert campaigns, live performance excursions and music movies. In 2018, Pinkett joined Ailey’s essential firm.
