The most interesting villains in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 might not be Kraven and Venom

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is shaping up to be a fun game, as there’s a lot of potential that comes with two playable Spider-Man. Fans are also looking forward to confronting Kraven The Hunter and Venom, with the latter particularly thrilling due to the villain’s recent popularity. However, they probably won’t be the only enemies in the game, and they might not even be the most interesting.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Get a chance to pull off some of the coolest teases from the first two games. In particular, it should take advantage of the Wraith setup seen in the original game’s City That Never Sleeps DLC. Curt Connors, who is featured in the post credits scene for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, should also take on his Lizard form. If Insomniac writes these two villains well and gives them a lead role, they could outperform the two villains that have been portrayed so far.
Loosen up the lizard
The player has yet to see The Lizard in his villainous form, although Dr. Connors does appear in the post credits scene for Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Easily distinguishable since he lost his arm, he is working with Norman Osborn to heal Harry using the Symbiote. Through an item collected in the original game, it is confirmed that he became The Lizard in the past, with Peter performing a temporary cure during their fight. As such, a reappearance could open the door to this history, with another emotional battle for Peter being a possibility.
With The Lizard already existing in NS Marvel’s Spider-Man The universe, it’s no exaggeration to assume that he might appear in the sequel. Connors’ appearance in Spider-Man: Miles Morales The post credits scene seems like it’s too much of an effort to get a small easter egg, and the references to the villain through a gallery and costume party in the first game only add to the potential. that ability. Similar to Man Bat in Batman: Knight Arkham, The Lizard can randomly attack the player in the open world, leading to a scare and even a surprise boss battle. With Man Bat still attached to the player because he’s not showing up, adding something similar could be a great way to ensure that Insomniac’s take on the iconic Lizard.
Discover Wraith .’s anti-hero status
However, while it would be interesting to see a classic villain like The Lizard show some love in a sequel, Insomniac Games has shown that they also prefer to pull from more recent comics. Mr. Negative is a great example of this, and with a lot of attention going to Yuri in DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man, it looks like this trend will continue in the sequel.
While focusing on Kraven The Hunter and Venom is always scary makes sense, the Wraith is a Chekhov’s Gun that needs to be fired. Similar to The Punisher, Yuri’s alter ego is fueled by her hatred of crime, while Wraith is frustrated by the failures of the legal system. As such, she fights crime like Spider-Man, with the main difference being that she kills the ones she takes down. This will inevitably lead to the two crashing head-on into their different ideologies, as Spidey will certainly have a high moral ground.
However, there’s also the possibility of the two becoming reluctant partners, with Spidey able to show her why murder is a step too far. Wraith is playable will be a nice surprise, as players can use her elastic straps to swing through the city and tie up enemies. In the comics, she also stole illusion technology from Mysterio, a gadget that would be fun to have in the game. While she can only be used as a traditional boss fight or a side quest villain, making Wraith playable could be a lot of fun and it will allow her to more lasting impact than the sequel’s other villains.
