Ellie from The Last of Us 2 is influenced by the epic war film Apocalypse Now in a beautiful work of art.
There are a lot of metaphors in Naughty Dog’s 2020 title The Last of Us Part 2 and can also draw many lessons during its play. No matter how takeaway be it how not to let its revenge stab you to the point where you lose everything you hold dear or how close to the moral line one should tiptoe to survive.

Ellie X Apocalypse Now
3D Artist Fuego created something really special by combining Ellie and a scene from the movie Doomsday right now where Captain Willard, played by Charlie Sheen, dives out of the water to kill Colonel Kurtz. The iconic image of Captain Willard underwater became the poster template for the 1979 American epic psychological warfare film starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall and Frederic Forrest.
What makes this digital art all the more powerful is the similarity between Doomsday right now and The Last of Us Part 2 as both are a metaphor for self-discovery in the face of great struggles and how those who have fallen into emotional trauma are more fulfilled when reality is slowly falling apart.
Of course, the image also mirrors when Ellie is swimming to the hospital area and listening to the WLF guards talk about how Abby escaped to get more information about finding her.
