The galaxy is preparing for the Republic Fair, happily unaware of the upcoming events in Star Wars: The Storm Rises, Qort and Farzala are sent on a secret mission for the Jedi. The quest to bring them on board with Leox Gyasi and his crew, brings them back to the central story for the first time since being introduced in Star Wars: Into the Dark.

The crew heads to Bilbousa, Nal Hutta, the world capital city of Hutts’ home world, on a diplomatic mission, and of course, Qort and Farzala’s mission wouldn’t be an adventure if it weren’t for There are dangers and pitfalls. While Farzala and Leox attempt to initiate peace negotiations with the Hutts, the Ship is commanded by pirates that make Hutts think they intend to sabotage the peace negotiations.

Chaos ensues as Farzala and Leox attempt to flee unharmed, while Qort, Affie and Geode are trying to survive Vessel’s hostile takeover. The comic ends quite dramatically when Farzala is captured, leaving readers with a grim panel of him in shackles.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures continues to be one of my favorite aspects of Supreme Republic. I’m excited that we’re finally getting to see more of Farzala’s story, and I’m also worried about where this will take him. One thing that I haven’t really seen mentioned is Supreme Republic is rewriting a lot of the perceptions Star Wars fans have held about the different species in the galaxy. Before the stories of the new era, the Zygerrians were seen as cruel slaves – more recently fifth episode of Bad lot. The same can be said of the Trandoshans, who are often portrayed poorly in Star Wars, but The High Republic has gifted us with one of the best Master-Padawan relationships between Sskeer and Keeve Trennis.

Star Wars is best when it makes us reevaluate our preconceptions, but one thing remains unchanged – Hutts is the worst, even if they are helping the Republic.
