The Game Awards Player Choice Voting is Open Now

The first round of voting for The Game Awards Players’ Voice is now live with thirty different titles to choose from.
December 9th will be an exciting week for many video game fans because Game Award show will be at 4:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. EST. Announced last month is 2021 nominations for The Game Awards 2021 with thirty categories to choose from including Game of the Year, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction.
As usual, although many fans agree with most of the nominations, there are still a few notable absentees. Such an example is Forza Horizon 5 and Profit missing in Game of the Year category. Of course, the nominations on this list are not all for the accolades. The Game Awards also has another set of voting going on starting today.
The first round of the Vocal Player awards has begun with fans being able to vote for their favorite title of the year. Unlike the standard 30 categories in Game Award largely influenced by a selection committee, Player’s Voice is a 100% fan-voted award. There are three rounds in total with the first round finishing in over a day. Out of thirty games, fans voted for the 10 they wanted to see progress on to the next round. Round 2 took place on December 5 with fans having to vote for 5 of the 10 nominated games. The third round takes place on December 7, where fans will have to vote for the best game out of the five nominated titles. Winner will be announced on December 8.
The Vocal Player Awards are a great opportunity for fans to show their love for titles they may not have been nominated for. Interestingly, although most games are released in 2021, this is not the case for every game such as high popular multiplayer title League of Legends and Apex Legends. Also, user can keep track of what is the current result.
As right now, Halo Infinite is leading the charge with Resident Evil Village in seconds and Forza Horizon 5 in third place. Very popular Fortnite also entered the top 10 while Profit currently at number 13. With one voting day left, maybe this list will change a bit. As of now, though, it’s an interesting list with some surprises in the top 10. Currently, only two next-gen games are listed in the top 10. Probably not so surprised too much. fans haven’t gotten their hands on the console and panel shortage is expected to last for another year.
Regardless of which title is crowned next week, The Game Awards is sure to turn out to be a pretty big event. New announcements are still being made like Presented by former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime at the event. And of course, there are still surprise announcements about the game, but fans will have to wait until next week to see what surprises are in store.
