The developers of Rainbow Six Siege “love to invest in training tools”, not Training Facility

Almost six years later Rainbow Six Siege Ubisoft’s shooter release continues to attract players in record numbers, which is why it’s more important than ever that Siege’s training modes are updated. However, the team “does not have any major plans” for the current Training Facilities and Situations, but is invested in creating tools for “operators, weapons and gadgets”.

The developer of Rainbow Six Siege has promises a dedicated training regimen of some sort for a long time, and while the game boasts Base and Training Scenario modes for new players to try, they’re very basic – and most importantly, haven’t been updated to reflect Siege as it is or how players play really play the game.

We talked to linked with game director Aurélien Chiron on the matter, and it appears the Siege team is also unhappy with the current training options. “Training facilities and situations are not a great tool to engage with,” confirmed Chiron. “We don’t have any big plans for them other than some tough tweaks.”

Fortunately, Chiron adds that while Bases and Training Situations have not been upgraded, better PvP training is in the works. “We wanted to focus on the PvP aspect of Siege, which is the core experience. We prioritize investing in training tools to improve the learning curve, so players can test operators, weapons and gadgets, and learn the map faster. “

More specifically, Chiron also said that the team is “still working on a range feature for Siege.” Fans may remember that, in April, Ubisoft announced cooperation with Aim Labs to create a “training solution” for Siege, but Chiron says this “doesn’t affect” their work on the shooting range “at all” – but admits it’s still too early to talk about it.

Also from the Siege interview, game director Aurélie Débant confirmed that the team is “working to resolve the issues” around the game’s tilt and crouch mechanics, namely “too quiet”. Right – this is not Splinter Cell, after all.
