Amazon’s New World officially entered closed beta yesterday, and unlike some previous beta events, this one has no NDA, which means the entire MMORPG community is weighing in. . I had a chance to play for a few hours yesterday, as soon as the server clusters nearly 200,000 top players on Steam. Almost all of the servers were full in every region, with quite a few of them struggling with queues (poor Brazil has a 5,000-person queue!). And completely newbie zones pack.
“So much to learn on the first day of beta!” studio tweeted. “There were a few places where we had a hard time, especially with servers and queues. Additionally, we encountered bugs with text-to-speech, random bans, and challenges with the Inkwell quest. We’re reconfiguring it as quickly as we can to resolve these issues until it’s working properly for you. We’ve received very enthusiastic feedback, filling our servers to capacity! We want our servers to be full, but we also want to make sure everyone can log in and play quickly. We are working on adding capacity to give everyone the best chance for Beta testing New world! “
In general, the mood in the game and on social networks seems to be very cold. I had a significantly better time playing by myself with the melee technique than when I was playing healer from press preview definitely last spring. The game has come a long way since May, and I must say, I had a good time. Character creation is much better this round. The chat UI sucks. I’m more interested in the game now because I had to tinker with it without the stress of previewing the group dungeon, even though I’m still getting strong Elder Scrolls Online the vibe that i want to play that.
