A new TikTok account has been set up for Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Daily Bugle sharing hilarious videos featuring Betty Brant and JK Simmons.
In less than a month, Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: There’s no way home appeared on the big screen with Tom Holland returning as the friendly residential wall crawler. As if the hype surrounding the film wasn’t high enough yet, the studio is now adding more online promotional content to fuel interest. This time, marketing for the highly anticipated film came in the form of an official TikTok account for The Daily Bugle.
The few videos posted on the account so far are all original content, created specifically for promotion Spider-Man: There’s no way home. In the past, Marvel Studios has used TikTok to promote other projects, but it’s often shared footage from the movie or series. However, current TikTok content for There is no way home features Angourie Rice, who plays the role of Betty Brant, the Daily Bugle intern, and JK Simmons, who plays the role of Daily Bugle. Two actors are considered theirs Spider-Man: There’s no way home character, referring to their busy lives as journalists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first video features Brant introducing himself as the “Daily Bugle’s newest intern” and who will manage their official TikTok account. She promises to give audiences the “fair, balanced, and tough news” they’ve come to expect from the press. Unfortunately, at the end of the video, she discovers that she was, in fact, just an unpaid intern, which ruined her dream of getting her “first real job”.
The second video, posted by The Daily Bugle’s TikTok account, invites fans to join the fun. It follows a popular trend on TikTok asks users to share their views on a particular topic, with the caption reading, “Tell us you hate Spider-Man without telling us you hate Spider-Man.” Fans can download the video and put together their own responses. However, Brant refused to answer the question because “Peter Parker is [her] you” and even saved her life. Simmons, on the other hand, isn’t afraid to call Spider-Man “The One Who Threatens Spider-Man.”
As part of the third video, Brant invites fans to join the Daily Bugle as unpaid interns and share their Spider-Man sightings with the store. Her playful speech turned into a humorous one as she addressed those who shared the “most false opinions, vague rumors, and craziest conspiracy theories” regarding Spider-Man: There’s no way home.
Since the movie was announced, social media has been flooded with fan theories, most of which involve Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield arrive in the movie is an alternate version of Spider-Man. It remains to be seen whether the theory holds true, but for now, fans can continue to share them with The Daily Bugle.
