The Daily Beast earned 18 nominations at the LA Press Club’s National Press Awards for Arts and Entertainment

The Daily Beast has won 18 nominations at Los Angeles Press Club’s 14order National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Award.

Senior editor Tim Teeman has scored 12 nominations, including Online Journalist of the Year, which he has won twice before. Teeman was also nominated in the Television and Theater/Performing Arts categories, in the Business: Music/Theatrical/Performing Arts categories for “Broadway May Make Immunization Mandatory. It was just a reopening challenge”; in Soft News: Television / Streaming category for “The Queen has banned the BBC from showing ‘Royal’. Now we see why.”; in the Celebrity News category for “Keith McNally’s Restaurants of Famous Love. Now He Dishes on Them”; in the category of Celebrity Profiles, Television / Streaming for “How David Jacobs Created “Dallas” and “Knots Landing” – and Changed Channels into Prime Time; in the category Fine Arts Personality Profile for “Chasten Buttigieg on Pete, Death Threats, Melania’s Failure, and the ‘Not Gay Enough’ Controversy”; in the Feature Film category for two works, “Broadway loves a comeback. It can be difficult on its own.” and “Broadway producer Brian Moreland on racism, fighting for change and the return of theater”; in the Celebrity Features category for “Shakina Nayfack just made transgender history on TV. That’s just for beginners.”; and in the Comment Analysis / Trends-TV category for “‘It’s a sin’ Get the clear facts about gay sex, shame, and AIDS.”

Senior entertainment editor Marlow Stern was nominated in the Business: Film/Television category for her work, “The Ugly Plot Of Ben Shapiro’s First Movie ‘Run Hide Fight’,” and in the category Soft News / Fine Arts for “Jake Paul believes COVID is a hoax and ‘98% of the news is fake'”.

Senior Reporter Matt Wilstein has been nominated for two awards in the Radio/Podcasts section, in the one-on-one interview category for “Why MAGA-Comedian Jokes At Blaire Erskine Drive Liberals Crazy”and the best Art/Entertainment podcast for “The last laugh.”

Entertainment reporter Laura Bradley has been nominated in the Celebrity Investigative category for “Nicki Minaj and Husband Kenneth Petty’s Campaign to Silence His Sexual Assault Victims,” and Senior Entertainment Reporter Kevin Fallon are nominated for “Jean Smartaissance Has Arrived: Inside Her Spectacular ‘Hacks’ and ‘Mare of Easttown’ Performances” in the category Personality Profile, Television / Streaming.

Prizes will be announced on February 5.
