Although one commissioner, Paula Shives, voted to approve the grant, two other county commissioners, Randy Bunch and Stuart Ulsh, refused to sign it. They say their rationale is that the library recently agreed to hold a biweekly LGBTQ advocacy group — a meeting the two Republican commissioners disagreed with. According to library officials, the budget increase will not fund the LGBTQ advocacy group.
