I have been a believer all my life, I have attended Christian schools all my life, and I have heard stories about Jesus countless times. I’ve also watched every movie and novel about Jesus ever made, and there have been dozens. So why a new TV show about Jesus?

Because I have a passion for letting people hear the “old, old story”… for the first time. When I watch movies about Jesus, it is sometimes difficult for me to feel moved or excited. I’ve heard stories before, and many projects about Jesus just take you from one Bible story to another, not spending much time on humanity and the backstory of it all. these characters. And they sometimes feel rigid and formal.

So when we started writing a program to discover Jesus through the eyes of those around Him, we were moved and excited many times. We have explored the biographies of Simon Peter, Matthew, Mary Magdalene, Nicodemus, and some of the people who received the miracles of Jesus, and in turn experienced Him the way they did. We cannot help but identify with their recklessness, their rough past, their religious piety and their desperation for a change of life. And finally, their redemption.

One of our favorite responses from the early screening? “The story of Jesus really appealed to my teenagers!”
