This article contains spoilers for Books by Boba Fett Episode 4 from the first paragraph
Books by Boba Fett streamed to the fourth episode, titled “Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm,” today. Although it may not be the most shocking chapter of Star Wars so far – it’s a flashback plot that covers how Fett (Temuera Morrison) originally teamed up with Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) basically tell us what we already know – it has some interesting tidbits for fans.
While those are the final moments of the episode – it looks promising the return of Mandalorianby Din Djarin – is getting most of the attention, there is a small scene earlier in the episode that has to do with an iconic character from the prequel trilogy. When Fett and Shand break into Jabba the Hutt’s palace to reclaim their ex’s ship, they come across the kitchen, where a chef droid turns out to be more lethal than expected.
Upon noticing the intruders, the chef droid started spinning its six arms in a menacing manner. He may not be equipped with the four lights, but this droid has certainly taken some cues from General Grievous. All fans can think about at this point is Grievous’ habit of swinging his weapon.
Perhaps Grievous missed his true calling.
We demand a deathmatch!
That name should now be typical.
Although there are more public callbacks for broader scope Star Wars franchise in Boba Fett, this obvious nod to Grievous seems to have entertained fans more than some less subtle attempt to please everyone. Perhaps Lucasfilm should take this as a sign that fans are craving more brutal robots. It’s time to start a campaign for a The Book of General Grievous short episode?
Books by Boba Fett, which is just three episodes away from the seven seasons, will continue Wednesday on Disney Plus.
