Texas abortion: DOJ asks judge to block enforcement of law

S.B. 8 was designed to resist preemptive authorized challenges, barring enforcement by state authorities officers, whom abortion suppliers would sometimes goal in a lawsuit. As an alternative, the regulation empowers personal residents to file civil lawsuits in opposition to anybody who helps a lady get an abortion after the six-week window. People can obtain a $10,000 award if their lawsuits are profitable. They’ll sue abortion suppliers, clinic staff or those that assist a lady pay for the process or drive her to a clinic.
