Tennessee driver arrested after crash worried nurse would ‘inject him with COVID-19’

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A person arrested in South Nashville over the weekend refused to permit a nurse to attract his blood, citing considerations that she would “inject him with COVID-19,” in accordance with an arrest warrant.
Metro police responded round 1:30 a.m. Sunday to a stalled car. When officers arrived, they stated they noticed a 68-year-old man within the driver’s seat, who defined that he was ready for a tow truck.
The warrant states officers reported smelling alcohol coming from the suspect’s breath and that he had slurred speech, in addition to bloodshot, watery eyes and was unsteady on his ft.
The person refused to consent to a breathalyzer and acknowledged, “You’re making an attempt to get me to take a COVID shot,” in accordance with the police report.
Officers stated they obtained a search warrant and drove to Nashville Common Hospital, the place they requested a nurse to attract the suspect’s blood.
He was “combative” and stated the nurse was going to “inject him with COVID-19” and he “didn’t need anybody to stay him with something,” the warrant alleges.
The suspect was arrested and booked into jail on a number of costs, together with disorderly conduct, DUI and driving on a revoked license.
His bond was set at $35,000.
