Emmy Award-winning TV series Tehran is back for a second season on Apple TV.

Debuting on May 6, the new series stars Academy Award nominee Glenn Close and Israeli actress Niv Sultan.

Israelli horror film written by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden and Maor Kohn and directed by Daniel Syrkin.

Its fast-paced espionage plot has been likened to Homeland and 24.

Series one received critical acclaim, winning Best Drama Series at the 2021 International Emmy Awards.

You won’t be able to watch the eight-episode series in one sitting, with episodes released weekly.

Tehran season two will see Academy Award nominee Glenn Close (Deadly Attraction, 101 Dalmatians) join the cast as Marjan Montazeri, a British woman living in Tehran .

Israeli actress Niv Sultan (Kimaat Mefursemet, Eilat) will return to play the main character of season one, Tamar Rabinyan, a double agent for the Israeli Mossad intelligence agency.

Shaun Toub will play Faraz Kamali and Shervin Alenabi as Masoud Tabrizi.

Tehran tells the story of Tamar Rabinyan as she is sent back to Iran on her first secret mission to help Israel coordinate an attack on an Iranian nuclear power plant that she failed to cover up.

The series is written by Moshe Zonder and Omri Shenhar and directed by Daniel Syrkin.

It was originally created for the Israeli public television channel Kan 11.

The show features footage in English, Hebrew, and Persian and was the first non-English program to debut on Apple TV.

Tehran season two starts from season one.

We follow Rabinyan as she tries to take down Iran’s nuclear power plant undetected.

The mission fails and she has to flee Iran, with the hot Iranian Fazar guards in the background.

Rabinyan turns to family and friends to help save her life and what’s left of her mission.

British woman Marjan Montazei (played by Glenn Close) lives in Tehran and comes to Rabinyan’s rescue, but she’s not sure she can trust the Israeli agent.

Apple TV released the trailer for Tehran season two on April 13.

The trailer shows dramatic scenes of Tamar running away from Iranian guards after her failed mission in season one.

Glenn Close appears in the trailer, giving us our first look at her character Marjan Montazeri.

Tehran season two will premiere the first two episodes on Apple TV on May 6.

The remaining episodes of the eight-part series will be available to watch on Apple TV every Friday, with the final episode on June 17.
