Ted Cruz didn’t realize the Republican nomination process was broken

Maybe you forgot this little incident. It was end of April 2016, and it is almost certain that Trump will be the Republican nominee. Cruz (R-Tex.), eager to make his campaign viable again, took the unusual step of announcing that, if he wins, he will run with Fiorina at his side. Fiorina was also a candidate, so Cruz’s announcement appeared to be an attempt to appeal to whatever loyal supporters she had — and of course, to appeal to Republican women. It doesn’t work.
