Team WE stomp EDG in Clearlove’s return to starting roster

Team WE took down EDward Gaming in a quick series 2-0 today in Clearlove returns to EDG’s starting lineup after being absent from professional competition for more than two years.
EDG was a strong contender in this series until the team replaced their jungler, Jiejie, who was leading in most stats compared to the other LPL players in this position. Team WE had a pretty dominant and coordinated game today, easily taking down the experimental EDG.
Although EDG had a chance to bring back Jiejie in the second game, they chose another replacement, Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia, in hopes of turning the tables. However, Team WE’s Beishang, who is considered the top three jungler in the LPL after his performance this season, has outperformed both junglers.
Mid laner Shanks and bot laner Elk, the WE carry, received MVP votes today League of Legends series. Shanks had an excellent performance against Sylas, using his opponent’s ultimate against them in a much more coordinated way while dealing a lot of damage in teamfights. Elk had a great match with Ashe, unleashing important ultimatums to easily take down opponents, while providing a good amount of damage in teamfights.
In both matches today, Team WE had the upper hand as their jungler outperformed their opponents. Beishang got big advantages for his team in both matches before focusing on picking up dragons to get the Dragon Soul early. In both matches, they were favored and the Space Dragon’s Soul appeared, giving Team WE a huge amount of damage when they picked it up to end the match quickly.

EDG (10-3) remains in first place on the standings after this loss. However, if they continue to experiment, FunPlus Phoenix (10-3), who has looked much more dominant in their recent series, could outdo them. Team WE (8-4), on the other hand, are comfortably sitting in fifth place and look like strong contenders for this season’s LPL title. Their next matches are Rogue Warriors, Invictus Gaming and Royal Never Give Up. The first two will be easy wins while RNG will be a tough one, consider their recent winning streak in the 2021 LPL Summer Split.
