Team Liquid beat the Sentinels to claim the top seed of Group B in the VALORANT Champions play-offs

A third European team earned their spot in VALUABLE Championship knockout after Team Liquid beat the Sentinels in a match against Group B winners today.
Liquid concluded their undefeated match through VALUABLE won the group stage with a great victory over the Sentinels. They took out KRU Esports 2-0 earlier this week and sent the Sentinels to the match against the Deciders on Monday.
The first match on Breeze was a tense match played back and forth and ultimately decided in extra time. Sentinels dominated the first half and only dropped four rounds to Liquid. Still, Liquid added a few clips to their standout reel, such as an impressive hit from Jamppi to win the ninth round.
The second half was a different story, with Liquid winning the first four innings to end the game. The Sentinels only won two rounds in the second half before stopping Liquid from winning the map in round 23. Zombs put the team on the back foot as he secured a one-on-three situation, killing three enemies with Classic. The North American powerhouse maintained its sublime momentum in the next round and forced the map to play overtime.
The Sentinels started off strong in extra time, but Liquid went from three-on-five to three-on-one, and Zombs couldn’t make it through this round. Liquid continued their dominance in extra time as L1NK took a one-on-one win over Shahzam to close out map one.
Map two on Bind is tough for Liquid. The Sentinels showed why this is their map pick, dominating offensively and only dropping two rounds in the first half. TenZ eventually showed up in the second game of the series and led his team with 21 kills. He hit two impressive Operator hits in the seventh round, showing he remains one of the best doubles in the world. Liquid failed to recover in the second half, and the Sentinels closed the map 13-2.
The series takes place in Split, a team the Sentinels haven’t played since against Envy at the Masters Berlin. While the Sentinels performed a bit better this time around, they still lost to Liquid.
Both teams took turns to win the first half, and neither could maintain the circuit for more than two innings. Dapr got an impressive 3k in round 10 when he slipped through the B site and surprised Liquid. The first half ended quite stalemate with a score of 6-6 when the two teams switched places in the final half of the series.
The Sentinels started the second half with two wins, but Liquid responded with two wins of their own. The Sentinels went on to win the following two rounds, but round 17 was one of the most exciting rounds of the tournament to date. Both teams fought on one location, and five ultimate skills were used throughout the round. The Sentinels eventually won the round, but Liquid ensured that this was their last taste of success. Liquid took the next five games to win the map and joined Gambit and Fnatic in the knockout stages.
Team Liquid took the top seed in Group B and secured their spot in the VALORANT Champions knockout round. Sentinels will face the winner between KRU Esports and FURIA in a Group B Decisive match on Monday at 11am CT.
