Team BC defeats Lethbridge and heads to the Junior Little League World Series – Lethbridge

The Lethbridge Junior Bulls were upset in Sunday’s Canadian Junior Little League Championship gold medal game against team British Columbia.

While both teams went into the game with a 5-1 record, BC quickly took a 3-0 lead after three innings.

The Bulls tried to recover, but BC Battalion fought hard to keep the host team at bay.

The final result was 6:2.

Team BC head coach Ron Laquaglia said this big win will draw worldwide attention since their baseball program is only five years old.

“You honestly never think that’s going to happen,” Laquaglia said. “We don’t have a home game; We play every game on the road and keep going and persevering.

“This group of kids, I can’t say enough about their dedication, their determination and their love of the game.”

Neo Foster, the battalion’s pitcher, said this year had been particularly tough as there was no home field and it was difficult to find places to practice, but the championship win was “really amazing. We have been working towards this for a long time.”

Team BC will represent Canada against regional team Latin America on August 14th.
