TCL’s future foldable, expandable smartphone prototype looks amazing

It’s hard to distinguish science fiction from reality these days, with flexible displays allowing for some amazing futuristic smartphone designs.

At the DTC 2021 conference in Shenzhen, China, TCL showcased some incredible devices with folding phones, including their Fold and Slide prototypes.

That device is a folding smartphone that uses the same display as the inside and outside screens, a trick we’ve seen before, but goes so far as to be expandable into a 10-inch tablet. by opening some hidden screens.

While of course there are obvious issues like durability, Samsung has shown that amazing progress can be made on that front with their Z Fold series, so hopefully those concerns also apply. will be a thing of the past by the time these devices hit the market. .
